The prompts for this round are Victory [Challenge: Bitter] OR Duel [Challenge: No Cards]

As usual, many interpretation of the prompts are allowed. For example, you could use the quote in full, alter it, or just depict something you feel is thrilling.

Challenges are completely optional but restricted to their matching prompts and only receive points once per round. So, you won’t receive any extra points for making more than one submission challenge-based.

All entries must be posted as replies to this post and put under a cut (and/or as a link) with nsfw entries tagged.

NOTE: As of July 17th 11:59 EST, round three submissions are officially closed (though the eight hour grace period is in effect). Voting forms for both round two and three will be posted by Sunday July 19th at the latest.

Prompts will be posted on the following days, each of them three weeks apart. Fanworks are due on the day before the posting of the next prompt, 11:59 EST. Late submissions will not be accepted.

However, if something comes up, your team needs to switch captains, etc., please pm us on dreamwidth or at our tumblr here, and we'll try to come up with a solution.

Submission Guidelines

All types of fanworks are allowed (from fics to fanmixes to art to cosplay to edits), however the work posted must be your own. Art theft of any kind will not be tolerated under any circumstance.

A first time violation will cause your ship team to incur a penalty for that round (no points earned from any of their works that round) and a firm request to change ship captains.

A second time violation will result in immediate disqualification.

Works must be either uploaded or linked in the comment section of the prompt post. They also must be posted behind a cut and tagged with the ship and spoilers (if any) in the header. Once again, if you have any problems, contact us and we'll come up with something.

We encourage artists to sign/watermark their works (especially if they aren't posting it anywhere else) and if they're posting to tumblr or ao3, to use the #ygoshipolympics tag (must be in the first five tags to be searchable) or post it to our collection here.

Voting

Voting will take place right after a submission period ends (i.e. the first week of the next prompt period). We'll open up a multiple choice google form and everyone can vote for their favorites. Each team gets points depending on certain things.

Each entry (max 3 for a round)	50 points
Bonus challenge (for each prompt)	15 points
Each vote	5 points

Anyone, whether they're part of a ship team or not, can vote. However we'll be limiting the form to registered google users only to make sure everyone votes only once. If you don't have a google account, pm us an we'll accept your vote that way. Tumblr anon votes will not be accepted.

Welcome to Yu-Gi-Oh! Ship Olympics 2015! This is a team-based fanwork (fic, art, fanmixes, edits, etc.) producing challenge spanning from May to August. Teams for each ship will post fanworks based on a prompt, and will be ranked depending on their entry. Each prompt will be open for three weeks before being switched out with another.

Winning Teams get bragging rights for their otps and the joy of crushing their notps.

This is our first year doing this, and depending on how popular it gets, we might hold it around the same general time next year!

Rules:

You can nominate a ship here. Ships involving yugioh characters only. Crossover ships are restricted to other yugioh series.

For example,

Allowed: Yuuma Tsukumo/Yuuya Sakaki
Not allowed: Kaito Kuroba/Yuuya Sakaki

The exception applies to popular yugioh fanon characters eg. Heba, Jehu, Akefia. Emphasis on popular, your oc, more likely than not, won't be accepted.

Nominations close on May 6th 11:59 EST. (For a list of currently accepted nominations, click here.)

Ship Teams

Team Sign Ups will open immediately after and close on May 15th 11:59 EST.

Ship Teams must consist of 1-7 members, however, if the amount of people signing up for a single ship exceeds 14, multiple teams for the same ship will be formed.

Each team will have a Team Captain, generally the first person to sign up the team (unless if they request otherwise). Team Captains will be responsible for choosing the works submitted an communicating with mods.

A team may submit a maximum of three entries for each prompt. New and original entries only. Any team found reposting someone else's work will be penalized for that round. This includes plagarism, art theft of all kinds, etc.

Entries must be submitted in the comments section of the prompt entry. If crossposting on tumblr or AO3, please tag it as #ygoshipolympics or submit it to our collection here.

The first prompt will be posted immediately after the Team Sign Ups cut-off and teams are free to start working immediately.
